Diamonds by Moonlight prides itself in the sale of loose diamonds.
There comes a time where the discerning taste prefers to buy loose diamonds either
for investment or for making that unique, one off piece of jewellery. Buying a loose
diamond does not have to be a challenge. Our years of experience in diamond sorting
have given us the ability to keep in our store the finest of quality loose certified
diamonds. Most of them are GIA certified which is the preferred internationally
recognised grading laboratory.
All of our diamonds have one thing in common and that’s the most vital category
of the 4 C’s, that is, an ideal cut. It will enhance the beauty and the sparkle
so when you choose from us, you can be certain that you are getting a quality diamond.
We go through the following steps to assure only the very best diamonds are sold.
1. Sourcing of diamonds
We actually make sure the country of origin to hand select the diamonds. In this
way, we ensure the qualities of diamonds are maintained and that we only use the
best diamond traders around.
2. No Blood Diamonds
We do not source our diamonds from Blood Diamond countries.
3. Strict check on the 4C’s – cut/clarity/colour/carat
Before any diamond is sold, we work out exactly what the diamond is. This means
that we make sure the colour, cut, clarity and carat are recorded. In this way,
we certify what we sell so that there is transparency in the whole process. We not
only follow the guidelines of the Gemological Association of America (GIA) but we
also have our own equipment to independently assess the diamonds.
4. Polish
When buying loose diamonds, one of the main factors people look out for is the polish.
This means that when they look at the diamond, they are looking at how much the
light is reflected in and out of the diamond. The grading systems for these are
excellent, very good, good, fair or poor. At Diamonds for Moonlight, our diamonds
are graded fair and up.
